Windows Terminal was announced in May 2019 as a modern alternative to the Windows Console, and part of the code was uploaded to GitHub that same month. This is one of the newest features compared to the old Console: you can work with different tabs and perform several operations simultaneously. The program is set up to run Command Prompt, PowerShell, WSL, SSH, and Azure Cloud Shell Connector in different tabs. Basically, this app lets you run any application from the command line, including all Windows emulators, in a separate tab. Windows Terminal is a terminal emulator that Microsoft developed as a replacement for the traditional Windows Console for Windows 10 and later.
